Chile done At-a-cama pace

After a dizzyingly high border crossing we were dropped on the outskirts of a small oasis town in the Atacama desert, called San Pedro de Atacama.

It was incredibly pretty there, but also very touristy and expensive, so we settled ourselves into a nice little hostel with hammocks and met some new friends Ben and Vicky (no photos til later...). We all hired some bikes and set off exploring the surrounding area.

We arrived back in the village just before dark, and after a delicious salmony dinner we got in an early night in preparation for waking up at 5.00am to visit some Geysers.

We arrived in the middle of the desert just before sunrise to see the Geysers in action. it was literally freezing and very very dark. Luckily neither of us fell into any holes. Our guide gave us some breakfast and hot chocolate and as the sun came up we thawed out with a quick dip in the nearby hot springs.

It was so warm that we didnt want to get out again! Eventually we hauled ourselves out and went to a nearby village to try some Llama kebabs. Delicious and salty!

Our brief stay in Chile was over and the next day we embarked on an exciting new adventure on the way to Bolivia!
